This course is a nice continuation of the Beginner Spanish 1 course, as it re-visits much of the same topics, but it extended contexts. You will learn:

- Extended uses of essential verbs

This course offers a smooth transition from the Beginner classes and introduces more grammatical structures, including the past tenses. You will learn:

- Grammatical structures, including the present progressive and reflexive verbs
- Intro to the preterite tense to talk about what you did last week and what you ate last night
- Differences between por and para

- Present tense conjugation of the present subjunctive
- Verbs that trigger the use of the subjunctive
- Common conjunctions that require subjunctive, and others that do sometimes

Speaking about the past in Spanish requires knowledge of two tenses: the preterit and the imperfect. This course reviews the formation of these two tenses, along with the various uses, while working with real-life examples. Join us for this special topics course! You will learn:
- Regular and irregular conjugations of the preterit and imperfect tenses
- Situations and key words that trigger each of these tenses
- Common situations in which both the preterit and the imperfect are used in the same sentence.

4-Week Reflexive Verbs
Reflexive verbs are commonplace. Not only are there some verbs that are always reflexive, other verbs can be made into reflexive verbs to indicate a reflexive (reflective) action, as in the example: Me miro en el espejo. (I look at myself in the mirror.). Join us for this special topics course! You will learn:
- Reflexive pronouns and rules of placement
- Common reflexive verbs in conversation, as well as variations in different verb tenses
- Common situations in which both reflexive verbs and non-reflexive verbs are used
